Flagship Scholarship Program Complements ý’sESG Agenda

ýConstruction Corporation (“ý” or the “Company”) envisions a First-World Philippines, which involves empowered youth and communities. Thus, to attain its long-term goals, the Company has positioned sustainability at the core of its business operations.

In 2012, the Company established theýCorporate Foundation, Inc., its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm that supports the best practices in environmental management, social responsibility, and good governance (ESG).

ýFoundation isý’sdesignated business unit tasked to monitor the implementation of the group’s CSR programs. It is duly accredited by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and has Bureau of Internal Revenue taxdoneestatus.

Aligned with the parent firm’s commitment for excellence, the Foundation has implemented several projects supporting its vision of engineering hope and empowering theýhost communities.

For instance, its flagship project—ýEngineering Excellence Scholarship (MEES) Program — has been helpful to hundreds of diligent students.

We believe that equipping them, especially the diligent students, will help usher in lasting and sustainable impact,”ýFoundation president and chairman Louie Ferrer said.

Since the program’s launch in 2015, theýFoundation so far spentP21.3 million to support its initiatives. This year alone, it earmarked P3.9 million, which will primarily support its overall operations

The program already gave out 97 grants to different students taking engineering and architecture courses from the University of the Philippines – Diliman, Pamantasan ngLungsodng Maynila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Technology University of the Philippines, and Cebu Technological University.

TheýFoundation provides scholars with monthly stipend, thesis support and internet and book allowances. Scholars can also tap the allotted emergency and benevolence assistance, board review support and allowance as well as dorm and graduation support.

As of October 2022, 52 scholars graduated colleges, 15 of which finished school with distinctions and 25 passed the board exams. To date, five MEES alumni are working forý.
